Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
We are located in a small community with a high percentage of low-income students. Our community is surrounded by agricultural fields where families work sunrise to sunset laboring to provide for their families. However, we believe our students have all the potential to make their dreams reality.
Our students have dreams as big as anyone else and are willing to work hard for them.
Our students are special because despite of their challenges and obstacles they continue strive for excellence. Driven by our passion, we have made them believe their dreams obtainable. Our students are eager and motivated to work hard and continue to reach their goals.
My Project
Our students will have the opportunity to perform in our schools first ever theatrical production. This will allow students to express their creative side, take risk and try out new ideas. In addition, students will have a safe place to be after school .
Some students have dreams of pursuing an acting career and this is a great way to form a basic understanding of a theatrical performance.
An experience in which students get a glimpse of a unknown passion that can potentially lend into a career. The understanding that there is a world full of opportunities beyond agricultural fields will continue to drive our students to work hard. Presenting a theatrical performance at a middle school in a cafeteria stage requires many materials to give the illusion and feeling a an auditorium. The materials for this project will allow our school to give a one of a kind experience for our students and families for years to come. The professional audio portable speakers will help project our students voices out to the audience clearly. We want to make sure our students have a real life acting experience. The microphone set and wireless headsets will allow students to move across the stage freely without any wires in their way. In addition, lighting is extremely important. The use of spotlighting will give our student characters the attention they deserve on stage while performing. Our goal is to extend out from a basic play, and create a theatrical performance experience were students have fun, are safe, and is family base.
