My Students

Being creative means taking risks and ignoring doubt and facing fears. My students are incredibly important to me and they are so original in lots of ways that allow me to enjoy their company each and every day. Many of my students have not yet developed socially acceptable filters so they are amazingly candid and honest.

My students are always searching for inspiration in even the most mundane places.

I always say, "Being creative means your thinking!" My students love to complete intricate puzzles, build with LEGOs and create 'things". The difficulty is that most of my students are able to think of original ideas, but they haven’t spent enough time with any material to learn how to make the things they see in their mind.

My Project

Document cameras are a great tool for teachers. They allow teachers to take what used to be individual assignments and turn them into class assignments, creating more discussion, interaction, and maintaining students' attention.

Students are always asking "What page is that on?" Using the document camera, I am able to easily show the page to the students, and highlight the area where they should be looking.

It has been great when discussing images and charts that are in the book, something that was much more difficult when I did not have one.

Every handout that I use I now easily display a copy on the board for my students to utilize.
