Lights! Camera! Action! Watch Our Language Lessons Come Alive.
Help me give my students a better way to stay more engaged while the lesson is being presented. Due to their very young ages, it can be difficult to keep their attention and this camera will help.

My Students
I am a Speech Language Pathologist who works with students who are coded as children with special needs. These needs range from having very poor speech intelligibility to more severe forms such as Autism and/or other medical concerns (e.g. vision, hearing impaired, etc). Some of my students attend Head Start Programs and other are enrolled in an elementary public school in the inner city. Through it all, my students are very energized little learners. They really enjoy learning through a variety of learning methods. Due to Covid-19, my students have had to learn through a nontraditional way (remotely) through different platforms (e.g. Zoom, Google Classroom, Google Meets, etc.). Despite this new method of learning, their zest for acquiring knowledge has not faltered in any way. They are still just as excited to learn even among the various challenges that may arise on a daily basis.
My Project
This Document Camera will absolutely help my students as they learn from home, remotely. I use a lot of reading/story books in my language sessions with my students to teach such things as vocabulary development, story comprehension of "WH" questions, making predictions and teaching story elements such as (characters, setting, problem, solution, etc.).
Trying to use a physical story book through the laptop computer does have its challenges and I feel that having a Document Camera can help my students to follow along in the lesson better, be more engaged and to clearly see what is being taught.
