Mrs. Guthrie from Baltimore MD is requesting computers & tablets through DonorsChoose, the most trusted classroom funding site for teachers.
My students need access to an Apple Macbook computer in order to help facilitate the creation of animated stories. We will be able to turn their stories and/or pictures in real life creations!

Most students who are in this classroom, live within a poverty stricken neighborhood and they often face challenges before even entering the doors of the school. Within my classroom, students love to turn into children and most importantly be exposed to another world through English Language Arts, writing, mathematics, science and social studies by having access to technology such as computers, and other hands on activities.
Although we have students across all grade levels, one thing is for sure in our room; our students love to learn!
They do not allow for the barriers they encounter on a daily basis to impede their learning, or hinder the success they encounter each and every day.
When given access to the Macbook, students will be able to not just turn their written work and drawings into action packed movies, students will also gain exposure to the field of technology and learning how a computer can be used more than just the basic ways. Through access to the Macbook students will learn what it takes to create a movie, and also work as a class to promote a short film that encompasses their learning.
Students learn best through exposure to technology.
With access to this Macbook, students will begin to learn how to expand their horizon, and turn every day pieces of work into extraordinary works of art! We look forward to using this new technology in our everyday classroom experiences.
