I am excited to be providing educational experiences to at-risk four and five year-old children in a free pre-kindergarten classroom. These kiddos are creative, curious, and eager to learn. Many of our students are overcoming odds, as all of our students come from low-income households, and many come from traumatic backgrounds.
We strive to provide opportunities that our at-risk students may not otherwise have, or be able to enjoy.
We are eager to create life-long learners, through thoughtful instruction, and materials, both in our indoor and outdoor classrooms.
My Project
Our at-risk students are discovering and exploring new things every day. The requested items will add light and color changing items, sound exploration materials, and magnets and materials that are magnetic and non-magnetic to our science center. It will also allow the children to explore the natural items that we have already added to our science center, from our playground!
These science materials will allow our at-risk students to see, hear, and explore the world around them in exciting, new ways.
They will be able to collaborate with peers, make hypothesis, and perform experiments to learn more about the world they live and play in every day.
