My students are very diverse! They come from different backgrounds, have a variety of interests, and learn in their own unique way.
Even with all their differences, my students LOVE coming to school to interact with each other and learn!
In the mornings, they check in with each other to let go of any challenges outside of school that may prevent them from being ready to learn or be successful. I cherish this time to watch them build each other up and connect with one another to build a strong classroom community!
My goal for all of my students is for them to be confident... to know they are always growing and becoming a better version of themselves everyday.
My Project
Students will use these tablets every day! Currently, we have a limited amount of technology in our classroom. This makes it difficult for students to practice their daily reading and math goals. Technology plays a large role in engaging and growing student achievement, and I believe these tablets will help the students to meet their academic goals.
Having this project funded will allow my students to use a variety of learning websites to grow their reading and math skills!
These websites have programs that tailor the learning to what each student needs--allowing them to grow from where they currently are. These programs also allow me to see the students' progress as well as their struggles which supports me in knowing what to do to help each student individually. Another amazing opportunity these tablets will provide is for my students to apply the skills they've learned in projects that will show them how to use those skills in a real world setting.
With more technology available in the classroom, my students will be able to learn basic skills such as typing and be able to meet their reading and math goals... hopefully building their interests in the fields of STEM!
