My Project

Kindergarten through third-grade learners visit the school library every week. In addition to whole group reading and choosing books, we spend time exploring with high-interest activity stations. Students work together, or independently, at one of several options available to them each visit. Options include science, engineering building, and creative endeavors.

We are lighting up our learning with illuminated boards and translucent accessories to help students discover with light!

We will be identifying and blending colors, as well as creating open-ended art. We will also be able to use the light boards to explore the rock and gem station, letting students see which of our samples appear solidly colored, but actually will let light pass through them, or will change appearance when light is added. This is such a fun twist that is sure to boost student interest and engagement, and will lead them to want to learn more. The portable USB charger will ensure the light boards are charged and ready for each class visiting throughout the school day.
