My Students

I will begin my first year teaching in public school with 25 energetic, curious preschoolers. Although I have not met them yet, I know our year together will be filled with books, songs, laughter, and fun! We will be diving deep into our learning and they will be accomplishing some pretty incredible things. I want to make sure that I have set up the best learning environment possible so they can play hard, work harder, and learn as much as they can!

My Project

A light table is a staple in a early childhood classroom. It is a tool that heightens any exploration with light sensory input. I will be using the light table in my classroom to encourage students to explore shadows and light, look deeper into letter formation and patterns, and investigate shapes and balance when building.

The light table will engage students when exploring literacy, math, and science concepts.

As a teacher, I know that every child learns differently. But I also know that children learn best when given opportunities to engage in deep exploration. Whether it is tracing letters in the sand, exploring patterns using translucent pebbles, or experimenting with different shapes and balance, I know that the light table will give all my students a unique and memorable sensory learning experience.
