Champaign Early Childhood Center serves children ages 3 to 5 years old. To qualify for our program, children receive special education services through an individualized education plan, are English language learners, or have a multitude of factors that put them at risk in their education. We provide the children in our school with rich learning experiences in all areas of learning including social-emotional learning to prepare them for the rest of their education.
Room 126 is full of compassionate children with a love for learning, exploring, and each other.
While inside of our room the differences among children are quite apparent to those looking in, but so is the kindness and respect each child has for one another. Individually, each child is unique in their own way. Together, we are complete in Room 126.
My Project
Recently, our classroom has been gifted with a light pad for our continued exploration and learning. Now we need some new exploratory materials for our light pad! The light pad is a great learning tool for our preschool classroom. It allows children to develop literacy, writing, mathematics, and engineering with hands on materials all on the same device.
New manipulatives for our light pad will benefit and enhance our learning in every subject area.
It will also give us the opportunity to continue exploring! The translucent letters will help children build early literacy skills. The translucent counters and pattern blocks as well as the Magnatiles will enhance children's learning of concrete math skills including geometry and counting.
