My Students

Kindergarten is a unique age group to work with, as it is the first year of elementary education. My students are at the beginning of their school career and just learning to read, write, do basic math, and build relationships with their peers.

Kindergarteners have endless energy and are eager to learn!

They are full of joy and curiosity. They are little people learning how to naviagte through this big world. When you are five years old, every day is an exciting adventure!

My Project

I am always looking for new ways to engage my students. A light table in our classroom will allow several opportunities for exciting, hands on experiences.

Math, Literacy, Science can all be integrated into light table activities.

We will be able to use translucent letters for sight words and letter recognition. Plastic counters, illuminated by the light table, will make addition and subtraction exciting. Leafs and other nature items we collect will be inspected and examined on the light table.

We will also use the light table for sensory experiences. Water beads, shaving cream, and dry erase markers are just a few examples of materials that can be used on the light table.
