My students are amazing! They work hard, and remind me why I do what I do daily! Though many students are from low income families, they should still have the same opportunities in learning as students from other schools! I want all of my students to have access to the newest and best opportunities out there in education, and much of that is through technology!
Apps and games that are available on tablets are changing classrooms across the world, and will be a great addition in helping my mathematicians and scientists grow their minds!
I hope to inspire all of my students to LOVE math and learning as much as I do!
My Project
Tablets will be a great addition to my classroom math stations. Students will be able to use learning apps, digital manipulatives, QR code scanners, and record themselves teaching how to solve problems for other students! Students would sometimes use tablets at independent stations, or sometimes use them at the teacher station. One example is using the app "Kahoots." I would be able to create practice questions of ordering whole numbers, fractions, or decimals. Students would then be able to answer each question using the app on their tablet. This not only provides a fun way to practice for students, but also provides instant feedback!
Students learn and grow better when they are doing things that they enjoy, and we know they LOVE technology!
