My Students
Research tells us reducing glare from fluorescent lighting in classrooms helps create a more successful and happy student.
Our students are as diverse as the city we live in.
We have a healthy mix of ethnic groups at our school: 33% African American, 20% Hispanic, 36% Caucasian and 6% Asian. Aside from this, our teachers work hard meet the learning needs of our students. We tutor before school and after school. We use small group studies to target the challenges our students' face. At our school, we will do whatever it takes to increase our students' achievement.
My Project
I have requested fluorescent light filters to prevent glare while reading and to improve overall academic performance. We will use these filters in our first grade classrooms. We believe that by reducing the glare from the fluorescent lights in our room, we will be able help our students focus on the content we are studying, and not minor external factors that could otherwise interfere with their learning. According to research, reducing the use of fluorescent lighting helps students have better work habits, improve their academic performance, reduce fatigue, and have more positive attitudes.
We want to give our students every advantage we can to help them do their best.
We believe using these filters will aid our students. Please help us achieve this goal! Your donation would not only support our kids this year, but for many years to come.
