This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.

My Students

My students need opportunities to read age-appropriate texts that are enjoyable for them. Currently, my students are requesting lots of newly released titles they are excited to read. They enjoy reading independently, and are working hard to build their stamina.

Our school serves students in grades sixth through eighth and provides rigorous academics, fantastic teachers, and a safe learning environment.

Our school is comprised of three hundred twenty amazing students from an urban community. All of our students are recipients of the free breakfast and lunch program.

My Project

My students love reading for pleasure! Help me provide my amazing students with high-quality, high-interest literature and nonfiction. Your contributions will help me get books into the hands of my students. They love reading for FUN so let’s get them what they want! By donating to my project you will help me meet the needs of my students that goes beyond meeting standards and taking test. I focus on providing my students with the conditions to enjoy reading for pleasure while learning empathy, and developing their fluency. The books I selected are all at accessible reading levels for my students.
