Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our Speech Team consisting of Angel, Maria, Adrian, Austin, JC, Phillip, Tristan, Justin, Isabella, Isabelle, Jessica, Deshonna, Danielle, Danni, Noah, Erin, Kate, Jordan, Morgan, Alex, Ryan, Taylor, and a few others are excited to continue our journey to fundraiser for our passion as a family.
We started last year with filming a short movie with very old equipment, we decided that in order to push into real world scenarios with our filming we needed to bring our equipment up to date. So far we fundraised for a new camera and were given a donation of a green screen. In order to use the green screen, we need adequate lighting to make the green screen work when filming. We have tried many things, but the information that we have received is that our lighting needs to be enhanced in order for the program to work properly. We have looked at many options and have decided that we need a lighting kit to help eliminate shadows and allow the green screen to not have any color changes so that the computer program works to filter the green screen out and be able to bring a whole new level to our project. We can also use the lighting and green screen to have an endless amount of diverse backgrounds to bring the action to life.
The students will develop a bond with their classmates, allowing for better collaboration with classmates that are in various grades. When they get to college and if the choose to go into video production they will know what camera angles to use and when to use them in relation to lighting techniques that enhance the image versus detracting from them. When they get into the career they will be advanced on the career they choose because they were taking the class when they were in high school. Some students who want to pursue a career in this field have a step in the right direction by taking this class and working with equipment.

We would love for donors to fund this project. We are serious about taking our filming projects to the next level. Our goal is to use this lighting equipment to fully utilize our green screen. Without the portable lighting, the computer program we use to identify layers & place alternative images doesn't fully function. And this professional lighting will allow to do better quality interviews, along with other high-quality content. We can learn the basics of lighting and apply it in our projects
We will use resources provided for us to bring projects and awareness of both the speech and video production groups. By receiving this new equipment, we will create high-quality projects and bring understanding to the community about what students do in the classroom. we are able to showcase our creativity bringing an idea into a finished project. The community can then share in our learning by viewing and being a part of our audience.

When our parents come to the ceremony I want them to be satisfied with the project , for that to happen we will need the equipment.
