Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students have been identified as Gift and Talented. Under this label, it has been determined that they possess the cognitive abilities to become high achievers. Unfortunately, I work at a Title I school, this means that the majority of my students are living under the poverty level. Most of my students are also English language learners.
My students lack experiences and opportunities in their home life.
It is my goal to see to it that they are not being robbed of reaching their optimum academic success despite their low socioeconomic status. .
My Project
Coding is already valued by many employers. These Sphero SPRKs will allow my students to learn a core skill needed for their futures! Students will be coding, communicating, problem solving, and learning from failure. They will also be developing those 21st century skills! The benefits of having a Sphero readily available to my students in the classroom are limitless.
Additionally, our district holds an annual CODE PLAY TALK HACKATHON and my students will be a part of our campus' first competing team!
We will have to provide our own Sphero SPRK for the competition. Therefore, the sooner we get our funding, the sooner we can begin practicing for our WIN!
