The light table and accessories already have a place in our classroom waiting for them to arrive! Once the items arrive and the new Light Table Center is set up the students will be able to:
Explore and investigate with colors, shapes and sizes
Make new observations and discoveries
Practice eye-hand coordination
Ask questions and define problems
Develop inquiry skills
Build pre-writing skills
Practice letter and number recognition
Build fine motor skills
When the Light Table Center is infused with opportunities for science, math, literacy and writing it quickly becomes a powerhouse of learning! The kids are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of light table and will tend to stay there for longer periods of time, which is great for stretching the blossoming attention spans.
