My Students

I teach in a special education pre-k classroom. My students are ages 3-5 and are learning the basics of reading, writing, math, and social skills. This program gives children from all cultures, areas, and various incomes an opportunity to learn and thrive within the district.

My energetic preschoolers enter the classroom ready to learn, discover, and explore.

They are learning to enjoy all aspects of their first days in school.

My Project

Light tables can be used for more than science exploration and discovery. Now they can be used to enhance literacy, math, and writing skills with hand-on-hand play and fun.

The light table can be used for open-ended play experiences, arts and crafts, and teaching academic concepts like science, math, literacy and more.

Children are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of the light table and colors. They will stay there for long periods of time, which is great for stretching their attention spans and fostering continue engagement with learning activities. Translucent manipulatives can be used to aid the use of the light table
