Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Last year our town was hit by Hurricane Harvey. It left many of our students without homes or homes that were greatly damaged. We are working hard to make our classroom a place our students feel safe and loved. I teach young children ages three to five years old. The students in my Preschool Program for Children with Disabilities (PPCD) classroom are a fun and loving group. They are still developing their physical, cognitive and emotional skills. They receive OT and PT services. Learning to walk, use stairs and feed themselves are just a few skills important for independence.
My students love to listen to stories, paint, work with friends in centers, dance, sing and move their whole body to learn.
They enjoy going to the motor lab to work their large muscles.
My Project
I am requesting a light table and accessories. They will make a huge difference in my students learning! The light table will assist with their sensory needs and social skills. They will love manipulating the blocks and other items on the table. My students need more assistance than other students their age in the classroom. These items will be help with their specific needs in the classroom. It will improve fine motor skills and visual tracking, as well as provide for socialization. I want the best for my students everyday. I feel like this will help them feel successful in the classroom while I am able to maintain their individual goals.
