Help me give my students the Light Table Manipulative Center, Magna Tiles and Car Set, See-Inside Magnetic Blocks, Magnetic Pattern Blocks, Crystal Building Blocks, and the Translucent Imagination Builders to promote exploration and hands-on learning.
As a kindergarten teacher, a day in my classroom is constant movement and energy. It is filled with the excitement of new learning, happiness to see friends and the joy of snack time.
My students are an active group that craves hands-on learning and experiences.
This is a large group of 22 students! Five of my 22 students will start the school year at 4 years old. They need structure and a consistent schedule to do their best work and learning. My students are sweet and loving. They love to learn new things and connect our learning to their lives.
Our school is doing our best to move forward with technology and curriculum. We use what little resources we have to prepare our students for the world that we live in. I love being a part of my school. We are constantly trying new things and raising money to purchase the materials we need to make our school the best learning environment for our students.
My Project
New Hampshire has taken on a play-based kindergarten initiative. In trying to promote learning through play, these materials would help my students with hands-on, pretend, and building experiences. I have made two light tables for my classroom. The Magnetic Pattern Blocks will allow my students to create designs and patterns. The Colored Paddles can be used for understanding what happens to colors when they are "mixed" together.
It is important for my students to learn to play together while being creative and building their social skills.
Play is key to successful cooperation, socialization, and learning. Building a classroom of creativity, fun, and learning is my goal.
