My Students

I am a first-year, first-grade teacher. I currently have 17 amazing students on a wide variety of academic levels that range from PreK-5th-grade reading levels. My students are so excited to explore and learn and my goal is to continue to foster that love of learning and help each of them reach their highest potential in the classroom. Our school is a community-driven school focusing on relationships with students first and my classroom follows those same principles to promote a positive climate and culture.

My Project

Having a light table in the room would allow students to manipulate letters, words, shapes, and numbers in an engaging multi-sensory way. Students can make mathematics and reading come to life as they manipulative translucent tiles to solve equations, build geometric shapes, and construct words and sentences that illuminate as they work. The students in my classroom would benefit from this so much and would absolutely love it! The best part of it all is the meaningful learning experiences they are will encounter all while they just feel like they are having fun at school. Please help me make this resource a possibility for my class of first graders.
