Help me give my students the Light Table Manipulative Center Light Table, Sensory Play Materials - Complete Set, and other Light Table accessories they need for the light table. The possibilities for learning with a light table are endless! When you infuse your light table with education it quickly becomes a powerhouse of learning.
Learning can be difficult, this is especially true for students with severe disabilities. Each child in my classroom is full of energy and absolutely loves learning, although the method in which they learn is exceptionally different, from other students. They are brilliant, loving and funny young adults that push through the different abilities they have been given. We celebrate the small things and push through the difficult times with each other. We incorporate a variety of learning strategies, at each and every individual's educational need and learning styles to guarantee that each student's needs are met. They are truly an incredible and unique group.
When students have difficulties that may create a learning delay, a light table can be a useful tool to inspire that learner. Sometimes sensory needs overshadowed the drive to learn. Once I started looking at light tables, I knew I had found the perfect learning tool, but I also know I need to extra tools to create the best learning experience.
Children are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of the light table and tend to stay there for long periods of time, which is great for stretching those short attention spans, learning while using a light take can make basic task and learning activities much more engaging and fun!
The light table is a versatile tool that can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching academic concepts, and much more.
