The students in our classroom come from diverse backgrounds.. They range in age from 3 years old to 5 years old. The students come from a very low-income area and all of the students qualify for free lunch. A number of the students in the class come from single parent homes and/or are being raised by their grandparents or other family members.
The preschoolers in our class come to school excited and ready to learn and experience new things.
There are typically developing students as well as students who receive special education services in the classroom. The families of the students in our classroom love their children and want the absolute best for them.
My Project
The materials requested for this project will provide my students with unique experiences to use a light table and the manipulatives to practice and explore learned skills. The light table letter, number and shape manipulatives will provide hands-on opportunities to practice the mathematics and letter skills that are introduce. The use of the magnetic light table pegs and blocks will allow my students to engage in both problem solving and building skills. The use of the light table and the manipulatives will actively engage my students in hands-on learning and exploration. I believe that the items requested will also be a fun way for my students to practice new and learned skills.
