My students are faced with challenges both in and out of the classroom. For some, the challenges are more than just financial difficulties. Imagine being four years old and going to school without any knowledge of the English language. Every year, I have students who begin the year with English as a second language.
My pre-kindergartners are excited about learning and love coming to school!
They are anxious to explore the classroom and the new school environment. They learn best by using tactile learning and manipulating objects.
We may be a Title I school, but we are rich in community and togetherness. Our parents provide when extra supplies are needed. However, when it comes to the big items, it is necessary to find help from the outside.
My Project
Some may think a light table is just for science exploration and discovery, but the benefits definitely don’t end there.
Children are naturally drawn to the gentle glow of the light table and tend to stay there for long periods of time, which is great for stretching those budding attention spans.
The light table is a versatile tool that can be used for everything from open-ended play experiences to arts and crafts, to teaching academic concepts, and more!
When you infuse a light table center with opportunities for science, math, literacy, and writing it quickly becomes a powerhouse of learning.
