Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students love coming to class. They enjoy hands on activities and always eager to try new experiences.
These translucent pebbles, beads and pegs will bring their learning to a new level.
The possibilities are endless: from open-ended activities to teaching academic concepts, my students will be able to use these materials in a fun, playful and engaging way. We will be able to use these materials for literacy, writing, math and science.
These materials will allow them to do so much more than learning new concepts. With the pegs they will be able to improve their motor skills and reasoning skills, as they pick and insert the small pegs in the correct order to create patterns, letters or any other creation that their imagination comes up with. We will use the translucent beans they as both a sensory experience and a powerful writing tool, as they use their hands to trace letters or draw.
