Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
The student population at my school is 95% Hispanic, 3% African American, 1% Caucasian, and 1% Asian. Over 80% of the students in my room are learning English as a second language. I see about a thousand students every week, from kindergarten to grade five.
My school is located in one of the poorest areas of the state.
Our families are plagued by poverty and high unemployment rates. All of the students receive free or reduced-price lunch, and some of them even go home without food on the weekends.
My Project
My students love coming to the art room. We need some new lights and lamps in the room to help create a happy, safe environment. In art, we use color every day and why not in our lighting? The better the environment, the better students learn. These lamps would help students focus on the tasks at hand.
My students are ELLs ( English language learners) and want a colorful art room to call their home.
Please help me do this with these wonderful lamps and lights.
Our classroom is so dark, non-colorful and gloomy. We need to brighten it up with LED color-changing bulbs and a NanoLeaf light fixture. I have purchased small tables and lamps but now need proper lighting! Help me brighten our art room and encourage learning, please!
