Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
Our elementary school is a low socioeconomic school. Everyone in our school qualifies for free breakfast and lunch. Most of the students rarely leave the small town in which they live. Adventures in books help them explore the world!
My students enjoy learning in different ways.
My students are also very appreciative of anything they receive. I know they will be excited to use these items. The items will be well used. I teach three classes of reading and one class of science.
My Project
These flashlights, batteries, and charger are multipurpose. On Fridays, we will have Flashlight Fridays. The students may use their flashlights to read under their desks. It is a fun way to get the students involved in their reading.
The flashlights will also be used to study light in science.
We will learn the value of using rechargeable batteries to help save resources. They will be responsible for the care and charging of the batteries.
One other way we will use the flashlights is for our spotlight on learning. Each child will have a flashlight. I will project answers on the board and they will shine their flashlight on the answer.
