My fourth grade students are willing to try new activities and are excited at the possibilities of what they could learn. They strive to have a greater understanding in the world around them. These students have varied backgrounds, but their culture is what keeps them connected. The Native American culture is rich in the area where our school is located and is a vital part of learning.
In my classroom, we focus on being safe to make mistakes during learning, having integrity when interacting with others, and having a positive learning experience.
This allows them to feel safe while learning new topics and finding out how to be successful cooperatively and independently.
The enthusiasm shown in learning is evident through cooperative learning projects which vary between teacher and student developed topics.
My Project
There are a variety of ways in which students learn most successfully. Learning through play and exploration is a must needed way to engage students in activating their excitement in a topic. The light table will help them to enhance their learning in a new and creative way while also captivating their attention to the given tasks.
Using light is one way to help engage students in their learning while stimulating their creative minds.
With these tools, they can demonstrate their knowledge in both literacy and math activities as well as on new information they are practicing. These activities will promote excitement in the learning process.
