My Students

My students are from a low socioeconomic background. We are in an 80% free and reduced poverty rate, therefore; we do not have a lot of funding through the school. Despite the many challenges we face, I try to provide my students with creative and meaningful opportunities.

My kids inspire me to continually find new and engaging ways to teach them.I teach first grade and several of my students perform on a pre-k level.

Any time they can move around the room and work, they do! They love to read and are constantly wanting more opportunities to spark their interest.

My students absolutely love and benefit from having a light up table. My students would use the table to help develop math and literacy skills. This is allow for a hands on approach!

My Project

Help me by giving my students a light up table to help develop math and literacy skills through a hands-on approach. My students will be able to build and read words though a completely new approach. They will be able to use letter tiles to build these words. This will make it fun and exciting for each of them. My students will also be able to use it to manipulate math number tiles to help solve problems. Research shows that students learn better by using a hands on approach while learning! My students have a desire to learn and are very inquisitive!
