My Students
Our students love to be engaged in hands-on learning experiences that relate to real life. Middle school students need to relate learning to real life. They love to build and create and are always more interested when they see the connections to the real world.
Students need hands-on STEM learning experiences in order to become successful and empathetic citizens of the future.
Our students need the proper tools to inspire collaboration and strengthen skills. We are in a high poverty area and lack the funds to provide the needed materials.
My Project
Making paper circuit cards is the perfect union of science, technology, art, and design (STEAM). Students will use the copper tape, led lights, batteries and card stock to design and produce cards that light up due to an electric circuit they will create.
Students retain more through hands-on exploration such as this electrical circuit activity.
Students will be able to design the cards how they like. This helps with social emotional learning as they can create this card for any reason and as a gift if they choose. Students will unleash their creativity as they experiment with paper circuit art and create a unique card that really lights up!
