I have an amazing group of first-grade students. They come to school every day ready and excited to learn. These students are so sweet and soak up every bit of information that you give them. They are working really hard to fill in the gaps created by the COVID pandemic.
This group of students comes from low-income families.
My school is a Title 1 school in a rural area. Extracurricular activities can pose financial burdens on families. I try to expose my students to as many things as possible because many do not get those opportunities at home. Art is one of the things that I try to do with my students every day.
