My Students

I teach at an elementary school in Las Vegas. It is in a low income neighborhood with students from all around the city. The students come to school each day excited to learn! They love to read, but sometimes do not have access to books at home. Therefore, the students use the library to provide them with books to read at home.

My students have a love for technology and growing up in a technological age they need access to technology.

My students love to read on many different platforms which include e-books and Kindles.

My Project

We need new Kindles to supplement our reading program. Our students love to read on many different platforms and we love giving our students access to technology they normally wouldn't be able to access. We have students who like to read in the digital form. No more big, heavy books to carry around!

We also love to use Kindles because of the special features!

It is very helpful to students to be able to control the font, the size of the words, and have access to a dictionary for those tricky words. This is especially helpful to the struggling reader.
