I teach preschool in an integrated program in a school district in Ohio. My students are 3-5 years old, half of the students are typically developing role models and the other half are children with special needs. My students with special needs require extra support and assistance throughout the school day. Some of these students have speech and language impairments or delays, Down Syndrome, social-emotional behavior disorders, and significant cognitive delays, as well as many other needs.
My students are always excited for school and love learning and exploring new things!
This project will help me further their experiences in the classroom.
My Project
The students will be able to continue to improve their social skills and fine motor skills while working with all of these hands-on manipulatives for the light table. My students really enjoy playing and working together at the light table, they enjoy seeing how the materials change color and transparency when they start building.
The light table manipulatives will offer my students new ways of thinking and creating while they are playing together.
These materials will help my students continue to explore in their environment and engage with others. All of the materials are the perfect size for our students little hands to be able hold and manipulate.
