Help me give my students a tray for the light table and sensory materials and to be able to have a hands on experience when they are at the light table.
Hello! My name is Angie Elliott. I teach in a building that is Preschool through the 2nd-grade building. I teach two half day sessions. I have 16 children in each class. Eight children in each session has some type of disability and eight children in each class are typical developing. I have children with language difficulties and some children with more significant needs. I love to watch all my children come up with a plan, draw it out, and then carry it out with their peers. Allowing children to use materials that lend themselves to be open-ended and encourage children to use their hands, is always the best way children learn. It's truly amazing to see what children can learn and how they express themselves thru hands-on materials.
My Project
My children need to have these materials to support the hands on environment that I encourage in my classroom. The sensory tray will allow the children to have an unlimited amount of materials and help them be successful by being independent and making clean up effortless!
The light table sensory tray will allow the children the ability to work with the sensory materials and to keep them inside and be able to fully have a hands on experience at the same time.
The sensory materials lend themselves to be open ended and allow the children to fill and dump and repeat over and over again!
