Our school community is comprised of students from diverse cultural backgrounds, but one thing they have in common is their enthusiasm for learning! We have many students who are English language learners and they are motivated to engage their speaking skills while working collaboratively on an engaging project.
Our students are passionate about all things S.T.E.A.M.
and they are developing their design engineering process skills through a variety of challenges in our school's makerspace. Our students light up when provided opportunities to get their hands on new materials and discover new skills. I'm always looking for new opportunities to challenge their growth mindset and create never-ending curiosity.
My Project
My students have spent the year doing STEM challenges, building robots, and snapping pre-made circuits together. I would like to take their learning to the next level with paper circuitry! The Chibitronics LED stickers and copper tape will allow students to learn the basic principles of circuitry at an age appropriate level.
My creative students are constantly seeking challenges and have a lot of experience following directions to engineer or build an object, now I want them to become designers!
Paper circuitry allows us to blend science and art in such a way as to encourage students to work through the design engineering process to create something truly unique.
