This project is part of the Black History Month celebration because it supports a Black teacher or a school where the majority of the students are Black.
My Project
How can I keep students engaged in spelling? My first graders have few unique spelling materials in the classroom. Every day we have reading centers. A portion of this time is dedicated to spelling practice. We are currently writing our spelling words on dry erase boards...which has been fun for the kids.
We recently received an exciting alternative to spelling via dry-erase boards.
We now have LED writing boards. They are reusable, erasable, and create glow-in-the-dark lines when writing on it. Students will love creating words! However, we need neon markers. These markers will be used with our LED boards daily during reading centers.
