I work with a diverse group of students who have a passion for storytelling through music. I have seen music and art impact our students in profound ways, giving them tools to express complex feelings. In turn, this developing ability has a compounding effect, spilling over into every area of life.
Some of my students admit that they wouldn't come to school if they didn't have music.
Some don't think they'll be able to graduate high school, but together, we form a plan, giving them lots of opportunities to incorporate music, while connecting students with the right supports. I'm proud to say that many still reach out to me to talk about the impact our program had.

My Project
Our students are using music to make a big impact in our community. Though many have experienced hardships, I want them to have every opportunity to excel creating and sharing their music using industry standard tools. We're requesting the special vocal microphone (FW730) to create more opportunities for collaboration within our school. With just two microphones, we can partner with our band/orchestra or any larger group. Under typical circumstances, vocalists couldn't be heard next to a band. These simple yet powerful tools will create decades of opportunity for our students to perform together.

Additionally, the floor monitors (PXM-12MP) are an essential tool for every performance. With a monitor, students can hear themselves on stage - a critical ingredient for musicians to stay in tune. Most importantly, it helps students to feel more confident, which translates into a more sincere, meaningful, and expressive performance.
