Lift a Weight Off Our Shoulders!
My students need ten digital scales for completing hands-on lab activities.
The majority of my students are low income, at risk students with fantastic personalities. They have a love for art, music, and food but not quite for science yet. I'm still working on that.
They really enjoy hands on activities and learn better by doing them, especially my non native English speakers.
I am excited to have an opportunity to work with a group of kids from such diverse backgrounds and perspectives and watch them grow over their high school career.
My students do many labs that involve measuring the before and after mass of items. It is hard to do this without scales. We currently do not have enough working scales for our classroom, making labs much less effective and time consuming. I am asking for ten inexpensive digital scales for our lab.
Completing this donors choose project will help me be a more effective teacher, reduce behavior problems I have while students are waiting their turn to use equipment.
This will also provide a more professional environment for my students to learn in.
By decreasing wait time and increasing engagement, the labs become more effective and we will be able to do more them.
DonorsChoose makes it easy for anyone to help a classroom in need. Public school teachers from every corner of America create classroom project requests, and you can give any amount to the project that inspires you.
