My Students

I have some of the most amazing students. They want to learn! They are learning to work collaboratively with one another. They complete lots of group work and are learning to lead and be lead. The classroom environment they create is one that many adults could learn from. They are striving to give constructive feedback to peers, to accept it from peers, and to think outside of the box. They make me smile with their willingness to take ownership of their own education. They are students that learn best when they are able to have hands on practice and apply what they are learning to real life models.

My Project

Every child know Legos and has built with them at some point. This brings a familiar item into the classroom and provides a boost in the confidence of a student in his or her work. Some students can be intimidated by certain Science concepts and using this familiar "toy" as a teaching tool can help lessen some of that anxiety. Please give all of my students a chance to learn with these familiar hands on tools, in small groups. This will give us a start to a better understanding of engineering, science and so much more. If you can give to help us start our Lego learning set it would be greatly appreciated.
