My students need guided reading books to help foster their learning. Guided reading targets specific skills and strategies needed to advance the reader to the next level.
Aristotle once said, "Educating the mind without educating the heart is no education at all." These are my students, full of LOVE, full of LIFE, who energetically walk in each and every day with huge SMILES on their faces ready to conquer the world! Our two mottos this year created by my 24 beauties are "I believe in myself" and "Keep moving forward and never give up".
My dynamic innovative group of curious first graders love learning, especially when it comes to the vivacious world around them.
As their teacher I strive to create the best environment possible so that students feel school is the place to be, not a place they have to be. Today's world is changing, the workplace is changing, so should children's school experience. Every student has the brightest future ahead of them, keeping them motivated and driven to become life-long learners will inspire their ultimate success!
My Project
The materials and supplies I am asking for already have a place in our room! My students are at the ripe age of grasping everything about reading. They are sponges when it comes to learning all there is to learn! Guided reading books are a huge component in the literacy block. Guided reading is small group reading instruction designed to provide differentiated teaching that supports students in developing reading proficiency. During the small group lesson, I will provide students with guided reading books, coaching the reader with specific skills and strategies needed to advance them to the next level.
By donating to our project, you will not only help readers advance, you will ultimately be helping these young readers become skillful lifelong learners!
Students will be able to read these books and practice the strategies learned, while sitting comfortably on the bookcases housing the guided reading material. This flexible seating option helps students have choice of where they learn and stay focused the best. This project will change our students' lives for the better. Just like in the words of Dr. Seuss, "The more that you READ, the more things you will KNOW. The more that you LEARN, the more places you'll GO!"
