My students come from diverse backgrounds and that provides us with wonderful learning opportunities. Some of my students have special needs and others are gifted learners. We also have children from military families, as well as some who speak English as a second language (ESL/ELL). We are very fortunate to have such a beautifully diverse classroom community.
Although our school is faced with an increasing number of students from low-income families, my students are highly motivated to solve problems and make the world a better place.
My students are the scientists, artists, engineers, and mathematicians of the future. They care about others and want to make a difference in the world. I can't wait to see the amazing things they accomplish in their lives!
My Project
Attending the ISTE conference in Chicago will help me gain exposure to current and upcoming technologies that will impact classroom instruction and help prepare my students for college and the careers of the future. The knowledge and experience I gain will help build a better school culture, more engaging classrooms, and make content more inclusive and meaningful for all students.
We want our students to become lifelong learners, therefore, it is crucial that teachers also continue learning.
These books I have requested are related to the content of the conference and will help me gain more from the experience. With the notebooks, I will be able to take notes and share ideas with my colleagues. Since the conference is so far from home, I will also need to eat out for each meal during the four days of the conference. The partial reimbursement for food will offset some of that cost.
Your generosity donating to this project will help make it possible for me to attend this conference. You will be helping me meet the needs of my students and contribute more to our school improvement efforts. The workforce of tomorrow demands more from today's learners. As educators, we must continue learning in order to keep up with those demands.
