Our middle school band has 200 students in grades 6-8. We are a Title I school located in North Augusta, South Carolina. The students go above and beyond normal classroom expectations. We have students who successfully compete on a local, regional, and state level with music. Our band students also support our school and community through a variety of performances each year.
The band has students of all ability levels and learning styles as well as students from a variety of ethnic and socioeconomic backgrounds.
In band, every student has the chance to participate and become part of a team.
My Project
The NAMS Advanced Band is performing a piece that requires trumpet mutes. We don't have enough mutes to fit the needs of our band! Through this project, we can provide each player with the tools he or she needs to perform confidently and accurately.
With this project, our students will have access to functional and good quality mutes and drum sticks/mallets.
Currently, many of our mallets have duct tape holding them together. The NAMS students have helped to create a wishlist for this project, and they also created the title! My students are very excited about the materials in this project. Thank you from all of us here at North Augusta Middle School for your continued support!
