We need groceries, a dish set, a cutlery set, aprons, and dish towels and cloths to cook meals and wash dishes independently in the classroom.

My students who will be part of this project are Daequan, Trammell, and Daisha. My students have ASD and are learning how to take care of themselves at home. I am excited about this project because my students love to assist me in cooking during class. They will learn how to create their own meals.
My students love to assist me in cooking during class. They also love to eat, so our learning is very fun. I want to teach my special needs students how to create their meals and clean up after themselves by washing and storing dishes. At our school we believe that the transition process is best experienced through authentic life training, and real world connections. Students are prepared for the world of work and to become productive citizens with the necessary skills that will increase their quality of life.
Our students want to learn to be independent and learn real-life skills such as shopping for groceries, cooking meals, wash, dry, and store dishes. The students want to learn how to go to Kroger to choose and purchase groceries according to recipes they will follow.
With our teacher's help we will learn basic cooking and kitchen skills to take care of ourselves. We will use these resources to learn how to shop for groceries, cook, wash, dry, and store dishes. We will learn how to go to Kroger to choose and purchase groceries according to recipes. We will prepare a variety of meals in our classroom. We will use pot warmers and oven mitts to pick up pans and pots from the oven and burner to learn kitchen safety.
We are excited to learn how to prepare our own meals! We will make meals such as breakfast (pancakes, bacon, biscuits, and eggs), lunch (grilled chicken salads, grill chicken and burgers, macaroni and cheese, spaghetti, vegetables, rice, chili, soups, and grilled sandwiches), and baking cakes, cookies, brownies, pies, and breads. We will use the pantry cabinet and freezer to store our food. We will also use the broom and dust pan holder to keep our kitchen area clean and tidy.
The donations to this project will improve our classroom by giving us the hands on experience we need to learn real life skills of cooking. This project will allow us to learn how to help at home during meal time and even prepare meals for ourselves and our families. We will be able to cook foods we love in a safe learning environment.
