Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
My students are fabulous people who happen to be intellectually disabled. They are interested learners who need alternative lessons and activities to help them stay interested and learn.
My students are motivated to work, learn, and grow in their 5 Domains of learning.
They need activities and projects that support them in their vocational, domestic, community and functional academic goals.

My Project
My Life Skills class will be able to practice real-life shopping, budgeting, and check writing procedures with the items from this DonorsChoose.org project. They will also practice scenarios with safety signs and vocabulary.
My students are excited to put their learning and practice into real-life situations.
They helped pick out the items in the cart. They are so excited to get their hands on everything and put these items to use.
We will use the safety cards in games and small groups. We will use the oil pastels for art projects and drawing. We will use the "Steps to Independent Living" set to help learn independence, home care, and self-help skills.
