My students need materials to continue growing our classroom life skills center. Our class practices various life skills that will help us be successful members of our community. These items will assist with storage and learning.
At the start of each school year, I walk into my classroom ready to meet new students eager to learn. This year even more eager than the year before as I have begun teaching a class for self-contained students.
When my students enter the room I hope that they will find all the tools they need to be successful.
I am fortunate to work with special needs students who have a positive attitude when they begin their day.
I wish to provide all of my students with both educational skills and life skills. When one of my students completes their education I want them to have the skills necessary to obtain a job through the use of learned skills.
My students are colorful, energetic, and passionate about their work. Even when we are struggling to stay focused and on-task, our class is pushing to achieve their full potential.
My Project
I have chosen articles of clothing to assist children in folding and sorting. Students can practice putting the folded laundry into a basket and prepare to help out at home or fold clothing as they grow older and become working members of their community.
I have also requested some products that will allow students to practice ordering food and serving food someone requests accurately.
Additionally, we will be practicing using a phone to dial home in an emergency.
All of these materials including items to store all of our life skills items will make a difference in the lives of many students to come.
