My Students
My students are smart, funny and friendly. Each day they amaze me and help me to grow as an educator.
I've never met students that are more hardworking and eager to learn than this bunch.
Along with our core academics, they are excited to explore different job skills and career options, which includes setting goals for what they want to do after graduation. We have accomplished so much this year and have so much more to accomplish every single day!
My Project
My classroom is meant to prepare students to be in the community and have a job after high school. Because of this, we practice life skills every single day. My students need to practice vocational skills such as stocking shelves, ringing up items, washing and sorting dishes and filling salt shakers. I am asking for various mock food items and salt shakers in order to practice these skills in our classroom. I know that these materials will help my students strengthen their vocational skills and practice for the future. I am asking for various sensory materials such as a body sock, weighted lap blanket, sensory lights and more to ensure all of my students sensory needs are met each day. Teaching special education, each of my students have specific sensory needs that must be met for them to be successful in their academics. All of these materials will provide students the sensory breaks and tools that they need each day.
I know that these materials will help all of my students in so many ways.
Ensuring that my students have what they need to be successful, whether it is preparing for their future or making sure sensory needs are met every day, will change our classroom for the better!
