Life Science Lab for Fourth Grade

The cost of science materials inclusing microscopes and specimen sets from Lakeshore Learning is $555, including shipping and <a target="new" href="" onclick="g_openWindow('', 300, 800, 'fulfillwindow');return false;">fulfillment</a>.

Scorpions, spiders, seahorses, starfish, polar bears, snakes, and so much more! All of these animals are part of the animal kingdom that makes our universe so unique and exciting. Children who will probably never see an ocean need to see what a starfish and a seahorse look like to understand why they are classified as marine invertebrate. Well, of course they live in the ocean and they don't have a backbone! All of these discoveries can be made possible with a hands-on life science lab. A lab that would include microscopes so that children could see slides of real starfish, and seahorses, and insects, and scorpions. To have this life science lab would open up a world of excitement and new discoveries in science. Children should be aware of the world around them and the wonders that nature holds. I am a fourth grade teacher in a low income school with approximately 88% low income families. For some of these children a trip to the ocean to see sea life will never happen so I want to bring the sea life to them. Who knows, I could have the next Jacques Cousteau in my class. Thank you for your consideration.
