Celebrating Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month
This project is a part of the Hispanic & Latinx Heritage Month celebration because
it supports a Latino teacher or a school where the majority of students are Latino.
I teach two VPK classes (AM and PM) with up to 20 students in each class, of which most are dual language learners. My classroom is their first school experience as they enter ready to learn, discover, and explore!
They love hands-on, active, and engaging activities that allow them to independently think and solve problems.
I incorporate a variety of learning strategies to meet their needs and learning styles at their unique stage of development! I strive to make learning fun and ensure they have a successful start to their school journey!
My Project
To support the lives of our little architects, we need to overhaul our existing block center and introduce new and diverse building materials. Adding quality blocks will enable the students to construct amazing structures using their imagination.
New vehicles, tools, and block people will not only enhance our block center, but also boost our students' experiences.
This block center will be incorporated into our daily center routine where groups of students can engage in unique conversations about their building. Here, they will have an opportunity to practice problem-solving skills as they play. As they explore the materials, our students will learn about basic engineering and math concepts that will help they become future architects.
