My students need purposeful chosen read aloud books to help them learn perseverance, kindness, and community building skills throughout the school year. The books I chose tackle many life skills students need to learn and discuss.
I teach third grade to a wonderful and creative group of boys and girls at a Title I school. They are excited to learn and come to school each day. It is important to ensure that children enjoy learning. Throughout the learning experience of each student, it is important that they continue the motivation to grow in their learning. They will take their joy of learning into the next grade and beyond. Therefore, they need all the necessary materials that will make them successful, independent, and confident learners. With your help and these books, this can continue.
My Project
A purposefully crafted and beautifully illustrated compilation of Read Alouds are needed to grow our character and community building lessons.
My students will benefit from explicit lessons supported by stories that demonstrate perseverance, kindness and teamwork.
These books will assist with classroom community building throughout the year. This collection of books will allow students to explore, embrace, celebrate and learn more about one another. For example, The book "Not Yet" will introduce students to the power of "YET." Students will learn to have a growth mindset and work hard to meet their academic and personal goals.
All students enjoy listening to stories, making personal connections and identifying and solving character problems.
