Kindergarten is an amazing year with lots of learning and exploring. My kindergarten students come to school the first day ready to start a new adventure, both socially and academically.
Our class is a small rural school in Wisconsin that prides itself in being a community of learners.
We have students in our school from all backgrounds and many different disabilities. Each child is treated like an individual and is encouraged to join our classroom community. My classroom will consist of 17 eager new learners this year who are ready to take on the challenges and excitement of being in school.
My Project
I believe young students need to learn through a variety of different ways. One way is through play and hands-on materials. My classroom has a center time every day where the students explore the classroom and all the different curricular areas. I want to create a place in my classroom to enhance the students imagination and creativity. A place where the students can go to make up stories and pretend to be whatever their imagination leads them to. By using their imagination in a fun way, the students will be able to take that knowledge into their reading and writing. I am requesting a variety of art supplies such as a wiggly eyes set, Bingo Dauber Set, Perler Beads, Glitter Gel Pens, Crayola Crayon Pack and Canvas panels to help my students build their imagination skills and have lots of fun. These creative art supplies can be used to promote creativity, collaboration and build imagination.
Play and exploration are an important element to a kindergarten student's day.
A wide variety of creative art supplies for my art center will promote imagination in play and creativity. These art supplies will also enhance team building and working together to complete a common goal. These material would be a great addition to my kindergarten classroom and give the students a new area to use their imagination and learn.
