My Students
The scholars at my school are at an economic disadvantage. The only stability the scholars have is school. My scholars families are low-income and high poverty. The scholars in my class would be the first generation to go to college and some will be the first to graduate high school in their family. Despite the millions of challenges they face in and out of school, I am looking for ways to keep them inspired and encouraged. I tell them every day that hard work will pay off.
My Project
Having the basic supplies will impact my students' learning while also providing them a chance to be creative. Using an assortment of colors in a crayon box is an amazing and beautiful thing. My students are using broken crayons to color with. They do not have fresh, wrapped crayons with an assortment of colors. My students do not have glue sticks and if they had glue sticks they could cut and paste a variety of different arts and crafts. They will be able to cut and glue the alphabet. These basic supplies like write and wipe pockets will put smiles on each and everyone of my students.
